Researching the many possible avenues for recovery after an injury or accident can become overwhelming. It can be difficult to choose the best treatment for you. The Bowen technique has joined the likes of massage and physical therapy as a non-invasive approach to relieving pain, strain, and encouraging healing. It is very possible to recover from injury using the Bowen Technique.
The recovery and healing process is often the most challenging phase of any major surgery or injury. To aid this process, and prevent future injury, AP Therapies offers expertise in the Bowen technique. For your convenience, we are located in the Sunshine Coast area.
About Bowen Therapy
Developed originally in the 1950s by Tom Bowen, this therapy uses small, rolling motions under the guidance of an expert practitioner. This is followed by short periods of rest to allow the body to “reset.” These subtle movements, known as the Bowen technique, are used to release muscle spasms and tension, which can cause pain and slow the healing process.
Expert outdoors-man Bear Grylls has benefited from the Bowen technique. He was suffering because of his own back surgery and many days and nights roughing it in the wilderness. In a 2007 interview for the Daily Mail, Bear described the experience: “With the slightest squiggle of her fingers, it felt like petrol was being put back in my tank and I could feel all the stress seeping away. More importantly, after my back accident, my spine and pelvis had lost alignment, so I felt unbalanced.” Sessions of Bowen Therapy really improved his overall health and wellbeing.
